Wedding and Event Industry Deals with the Pandemic of 2020

As the COVID19 began to unfold, no one anticipated the seriousness of it all or the drastic measures that would follow. While there have certainly been far worse pandemics that took millions of lives, this is the first time that our lives as we know them have literally been shut down. And not just our lives but lives across the globe.

As if these uncertain times aren’t hard enough, there are thousands of couples out there that have had to cancel or postpone their weddings. After spending months and, in some cases, years planning the most special day of their lives, they were told, it’s not happening! Talk about stressful.

Wedding and event professionals have also spent hours upon hours helping to plan these weddings and now they are canceled or postponed. Many of the vendors in the wedding industry are small companies that get by on deposits and payments to pay their employees and bills. Now suddenly people are asking to postpone payments or worse they want their money back. It’s a tough situation for all concerned. The wedding industry has some of the most dedicated and caring people around. It’s uncertain times like these, that makes us especially grateful for that.

Vista Valley has been working closely with our brides and grooms reassuring them that we are here to help. We understand that weddings are an emotional time, so that is in the forefront of our minds when dealing with all the issues that arise from these unprecedented times. We have rescheduled most of our April-June weddings to later this year. It is our goal to make this experience as easy as possible for our couples. While not in the normal fashion, we are also booking new weddings as couples scramble to find a new venue or use this down time to start planning their weddings.

For now, this is the new normal and we are in it together! Our doors are closed, and the halls are empty; but before you know it, they will be open and full of joy again. In the meantime, while we all sit and wait, feel free to contact our Events Department with any questions at 760-685-4998 or lmitchell@vistavalley.com.

Helpful tidbits for planning your wedding

When planning a wedding there are a lot of small details that can become stressful. Let’s face-it most brides are novices at planning weddings and look to the experts such as Vista valley to help plan their big day.

Vista Valley Country Club includes a facility Coordinator in our packages. Your Coordinator will assist you with your timeline, menu selections, vendor references, room layout and more. She will also assist with your rehearsal and ceremony. Day of, she will greet your vendors and make sure things stay on time. If you have your own Coordinator, she will work side-by-side with them to assure a seamless event.

If you are doing a plated meal, you will need to do the following - put the entrée options on your invitations; give your final counts for each item to your Coordinator; make place cards that have the entrée selection on them and then day of, your guests change their minds. It’s for this reason, we recommend a Duet meal where you get two petite portions of each entree on every plate. This is normally a $8-10 upgrade as it is an impressive presentation; however, we include this option at no additional cost. We also offer buffet or buffet stations, which are always an exciting option!

When doing your seating chart or place cards, you will want to list your guest’s names alphabetically as opposed to listing the names by table number. Having 100 plus people searching for their names at each table is a nightmare and causes a lot of delays.

Flowers used at the ceremony should be re-purposed to the Reception. Make sure to discuss this with your florist so they can assist with what may or may not work in both areas. Adding linen upgrades or chargers is a simple and inexpensive way to change the whole appearance of a room.

Planning simplified… we have partnered with the best of the best vendors in the industry. They are licensed, insured and familiar with our property. Vista Valley has unique logistics and tons of pictures opportunities so using people who are familiar with the property just makes sense.

Vista Valley Wedding & Events

When planning your wedding, there are many things to consider – the date, the guest list, the color palette, the bridal party, the cost, the style, the vendors, and of course the most important, the venue!

Where you decide to have your wedding and reception will determine many of the elements of your wedding. If you decide to go with a rustic barn, you won‘t need a Cinderella carriage and likewise if you decide on a fairytale theme, cowboy boots probably won’t be in your attire for the day! Selecting a venue that encompasses multiple styles, can make your life easier and your wedding memories plentiful.

We believe each wedding should be unique so the possibilities are endless at Vista Valley Country Club. From our Provence Garden Ceremony Site and Parkside Cocktail and Reception Venue with its 18th century gates and columns to our private and beautifully adorned Clubhouse with its wall of windows and two terraces that overlook the surrounding mountains and golf course, Vista Valley has a surplus of options! We believe it’s your day and choices are very important so no two weddings are the same. This also offers our brides and grooms countless photo op locations!

Most Country Clubs do not make concessions on the golf course or in the clubhouse for weddings; however, Vista Valley is not your ordinary Country Club. Your wedding is very important to us, so we put things in place to make sure your day runs seamlessly and without any outside interference. We only host one wedding a day giving you our undivided attention and the privacy you deserve.

Since we have so many selections to choose from, we highly recommend scheduling a visit for a private tour of our amazing venue. The property is shown by appointment only. We are closed on Mondays but schedule appointments around our events every other day of the week. Please give us a call today at 760-842-6689 or send us an email at lmitchell@vistavalley.com.

An absolutely stunning venue offering rustic charm and privacy, Vista Valley is not your ordinary Country Club! With gorgeous views, delicious food and impeccable service, this venue is sure to create amazing memories that will last you a lifetime.
Six years ago, Vista Valley Country Club went through an extensive, eight million dollar renovation. In addition to a complete make over on the outside of the building some of the other changes were - a spacious new bar area featuring a wall of windows; beautifully crafted fireplaces; expanded dining room, which also has a wall of windows; the private dining room with its stain-glass ceiling and private terrace; the southern terrace with palatial views; substantial rustic chandeliers; and massive mirrors and tapestry complete the look. Also added were a bridal suite, a Library, which is also used as a groom’s room, and a gym and fitness area complete with saunas and spas. Every dollar is evident as you walk through the 39,000 square feet of facilities!

Then (1979 - 2012)

NOW (2012 to Present)

Ceremony Site

The ceremony site was created with historical significance and boasts 18th Century gates and columns imported from Provence, France, unique Antique Viewing Portals reclaimed from a 1700 Orangerie in the South of France, and shade timbers ordered in the 1730s by George Washington!
